About JWA Travel
I am passionate about Luxury Adventure (active, outdoors, exploration, wildlife, eco-tourism); Wellness Journeys (physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing); and Private Group Travel (creating connections and strengthening community relationships). I pride myself on creating trips that are truly personal to each client, on each departure.
My enthusiasm for travel began very early. Through my father's work in the oil industry, our family moved frequently, eventually making our way to Venezuela where we lived for 4 years. This was an exciting adventure, filled with memorable characters, new foods, wild iguanas as house pets, and learning about human drama watching the great spanish novella, Simplemente Maria (poor Maria, she had so many problems!). After returning to the US, I found myself in the enviable position of tagging along on my parents international business trips. As a young teenager, I was introduced to Thailand's golden temples, Japan's refined culture and an incredible invention - room service!
For many years, I worked as an ICU RN, school nurse, and raised two children with my husband. I shared my love of travel with my family, planning trips to Africa, Central and South America, Europe, US and Canada. In 2016, I felt ready to take on a new challenge. For years I had been called upon by friends and family for travel advice and recommendations. Where should I stay? What should I see? Answering these seemingly simple questions became the foundation for a new professional opportunity. Merging my skills as a nurse (attention to detail, organization, critical thinking), desire to help people, and a belief that travel adds depth and richness to life, JWA Travel was formed.
